When the founders of our nation were struggling to write the Constitution, the backbone of our Republic, one of the least religious among them, Benjamin Franklin suggested prayer.

"How has it happened, Sir, that we have not hitherto once thought of humbly applying to the Father of lights to illuminate our understanding," he asked.

Today, those who lead our country, House Speaker Mike Johnson, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, even President Donald J. Trump have continued to call on our one sovereign God for illumination, grace and guidance.

On May 11 your Hancock County Republican Party invites you to our prayer breakfast where we will once again direct our eyes upward and give thanks to our Father of lights for the blessings He rains upon us.
